Brayman Construction Receives APC’s TQI Partnering Award

At a recent Associated Pennsylvania Constructors (APC) Awards Banquet, Brayman was selected as a 2018 TQI Partnering Award winner for the PA Turnpike Commission’s Superstructure Replacement of WB-224B in Beaver County.

This was an accelerated bridge project that entailed the replacement of the existing superstructure, repairs to the existing substructure, and reconstruction of the existing roadway within the project limits.

The new superstructures were built off-line and laterally slid into position during a 55-hour weekend closure. During the closure crews worked around the clock to demolish the existing superstructure, make required repairs to the beam seats of the existing substructure, laterally slide in the new superstructures, and reconstruct the roadway.

This project was the first lateral slide-in bridge construction project for both Brayman and the PA Turnpike Commission.
