Scope of Project:
This $20.6 Million West Virginia DOH Project includes the replacement of existing bridges with six (6) span bridges on drilled caisson foundations. Project being completed with 32 total caissons with depths in excess of 115 feet. The caissons ranged in size from 78" diameter shafts with 72" diameter rock sockets and 36" diameter shafts with 30" rock sockets. Difficulties included tight over head and lateral access with active traffic on I64 east and west & Hal Greer Blvd.
