Scope of Project:
Installed 119 caissons for the construction of a new 23 story high rise structure; the building will provide almost 350,000 square feet of office space, 10 floors of hotel and condominium space along with a 330 car parking garage. The building will be one of the largest green, mixed use buildings in the country. The caissons ranged in diameter from 30 incehs to 60 inches in diameter with rock sockets up to 25 feet in length. MiniSID inspection, CSL testing and PIT testing were utilized on this project. The project was particularly challenging due to its small footprint, approximately thirty five feet below street level. Nearly all of the caisson concrete was installed via the tremie method. |
