Scope of Project:
Brayman was contracted to install 199 production piles, one sacrificial test pile, perform one verification compression test and 10 tension proof tests on the piles for the new Classification and Diagnostic Building for the Camp Hill Correctional Facility. The underlying rock formation was limestone karst that by its pinnacle nature produced pile lengths as short as 27-feet to depths of 97-feet from existing grade. Eccentric percussive drill tooling was used to install the micropiles through the rock formation to ensure adequate bond length for each pile. A total of 8,705-lf of micropiles were installed on this project.
It was necessary for Brayman to adapt to the project site due to the security constraints. However, with all the necessary paperwork and tool checks Brayman completed all phases of our work ahead of schedule on a project that was schedule dependent. |
