Brayman was contracted to replace two bridges along SR 224 located in Lawrence County, PA.

The first bridge replaced an existing four-span truss bridge crossing the Mahoning River and CSX Railroad. The new bridge is approximately 525' long, with two piers located in the water on caisson foundations; and with one pier, and abutments founded on pre-drilled bearing piles. Work also included construction of two cofferdams at the piers, and soldier pile walls at each abutment.

The second bridge, located just west of the larger structure, replaced an existing concrete bridge with a three-span, prestressed concrete bulb, T-beam bridge crossing Norfolk Southern Railroad. The new bridge is approximately 193' long with piers and abutments on steel tapered pipe piles.

Additional aspects of this project included the design and construction of temporary bridges, approach roadway reconstruction, drainage and guide rail work, as well as the explosive demolition of the main truss over the Mahoning River.
