In April of 2012, Brayman was awarded a $1.385M contract to install 212 drilled shafts for the construction of a new student housing complex at West Virginia University. Our scope of work on the project included the drilling and installation of caissons ranging from 36” to 78”, layout/survey, spoils control and the furnishing and tying of caisson reinforcing bars.

In order to meet the schedule demands of the project, two drill rigs were incorporated into the work plan. With drilled shafts exceeding their planned depths by up to 30%, maintaining the client’s projected completion date was one of the biggest challenges. Crews worked feverishly to meet the schedule demands on-site by working longer days and weekend shifts. Brayman also secured a second concrete supplier to provide additional assurances for meeting production demands
