Brayman Construction recently completed Drilled Shaft Work for the new I70 Fulton Bridge in Wheeling, WV. The last shaft completed was the Pier A East Bound “B” Shaft. The existing East Bound Bridge Structure had to be removed to facilitate drill rig access to this shaft due to limited headroom. Brayman crews had to remain extra diligent during the installation of this shaft. The shaft side wall was in close proximity to the rail/trail tunnel wall, which is over 100 years old.
