Team Brayman has just finished a unique project for our client, Wheels Mechanical Contracting, who is installing a new water line for a fire suppression system in the Allegheny County Port Authority’s Penn Tunnel. The crew bored a 13-3/8″ hole through overburden using permanent casing and cored through a buried concrete abutment to allow access for the water line to be installed from the street level.

This eliminated the need for additional shoring to be installed on 7th Avenue, which remained open through construction and allowed the team to avoid several underground utilities which were present in the work area.

The crew planned well and worked safely, making this project a success. We look forward to unique projects such as this to supply our clients with Innovative Solutions!
