Brayman Construction is beginning earth retention, shotcrete and soil nail wall improvement work for the City of Asheville Water Resources Department at the North Fork Spillway in Black Mountain, NC.

A project team recently mobilized to this limited access jobsite, installed 2 test soil nails and one test tieback, completed the project testing program, and began production drilling for a 5,719 square foot wall.

Along with pressure grouting permanent tiebacks to pressures of up to 140PSI, Brayman is also utilizing shotcrete to place 21 anchor blocks instead of using standard precast blocks for more efficient block placement and tieback testing.

Additionally, senior team members have been using this opportunity to train newer team members on proper pressure grouting & nail/tieback testing procedures.
