Brayman was awarded the Hulton Bridge Replacement Contract on August 1, 2013. It was just under $64.9 million and reflected the tremendous trust we have in our skilled work force. Our extensive knowledge and experience gained from recent results achieved at Apollo, Rumsey, Kanawha, and Ices Ferry (not to mention ongoing projects at Freeport, Ironton-Russell, Masontown, and Lilly Bridge), allowed us to take an aggressive approach to this project. Brayman’s proven capability to self-perform marine-based substructure up through deck placements, teamed with Advantage Steel for the super structure erection, is a winning combination.
The new four-lane structure will be built upstream, while traffic continues to utilize the 1908 existing truss, two-lane bridge. The approaches will be realigned and upgraded with new signals and landscaping. The new bridge will be approximately 1,600 feet long, resting on three new river piers. Work will start this Fall and continue into 2016, with completion in time for the next U.S. Open at the Oakmont Country Club.
